A Ticket: A Promotional Material
A Ticket: A Promotional Material
By: Nellie Tanglib
A
ticket is defined to be a printed piece of cardboard or paper showing that the
holder is entitled to admission to a place of public entertainment or a sports
facility. Moreover, a ticket is more
like a passes to actually enter a public facility. A ticket can also be a
printed piece of cardboard or paper showing that the holder is entitled to be
traveling on a means of transport. In terms of a ticket being a notification of
traffic offense, it is also a printed notice which means that there is a
traffic or a parking offense that has been committed which involves a fine to
be paid. Also, a ticket can also be that of a label or a tag if it is a small
piece of card attached to an article which includes the price or detail of a
certain product. In addition, a ticket can also be referred to as a list of
candidates put forward by one party or group in an election in terms of a group
of candidates running together in politics.
However,
the ticket referred to in this article is the ticket that is printed in a piece
of cardboard or paper showing that the holder is entitled to admission to a
place of public entertainment or a sports facility. In this article, ticket is
referred to as one of the materials used in promoting an event or activity.
Also, a ticket is referred to as one of those which are used in communicating
to various audiences an event or an activity.
In
various activities, there are various ways in promoting or communication it to
other people. Some of which is through social media and other Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
One of which is through the ticket of the event itself. We, humans, often
believe that to see is to believe. Let’s say for example, a certain individual
is informed and at the same time persuaded to attend such event through a
ticket. In this sense, a ticket serves as a ‘proof’ or ‘evidence’ that an event
is actually going to happen. Moreover, a ticket may contain some details such
as the venue, the time, the title of the activity, the theme in some instances,
and other important details that may be included.
A
ticket, if bought by a buyer, can be a way of others to know about the event.
Let’s put it this way, a certain buyer bought a ticket and showed it to another
or asked another person to accompany him/her in that event. In this case, the
event is made known to another other and can possibly be known to another
other. Also, in selling a ticket, the seller is more like ‘responsible’ or in
charge of explaining or giving a little detail on what is expected in the event
or what benefit could a buyer get from buying such ticket or passes.
In
promoting an event like that of a variety show, it involves something more
close on advertising or designing a way to make it known to others and to
persuade them to join the event or activity. More importantly, a ticket may not
be as effective like that of the social media but can still be a means of
promoting a certain event or activity.
